The two teams likely to be in the final: Algeria surprises the hosting team and getting on the top of the Youth Basketball Championship

The Algerian national team earned a deserved win over the Egyptian hosting team, reverting his set back in the first half of the game into a thrilling win in the last minutes 76/73, although his coach, Farouk Seifi was sent off because of the second technical foul three minutes after the beginning of the game. Algeria became on the top of the Arab Championship for Youth presently hosted by Egypt, with a score of 4 points from two successive winnings which is the same score of the Qatari national team the second in rank, yet the precedence remains for Algeria with a bigger difference in the game scores. In spite of what happened in this early final, the observers and experts expect this incident to happen again in the final as the hosting team vowed to take revenge for their defeat. The Egyptian national team took precedence in the first and second quarters 21/18 and 28/19, while the third and the fourth quarters were in favor of the Algerian team 17/12 and 22/12. In the wake of the game, the Algerian coach, Farouk el-Seifi, expressed his happiness saying that when he was sent off from the court his players became more motivated to achieve a positive result, in defiance of the strength and capability of the hosting team, the Champion of Africa and the tenth of the world. He also added that when the Egyptian team headed to the defense area, the Algerian team scored many three-point shot in a critical time.

On the other hand, the coach of the Emirati national team, Salem Atieq, expressed his joy at the performance presented by his team against the Saudi national team which turned out to be a deserved win, saying that it is the first time for the present national team to involve in an international game and without sufficient preparation unlike the other national teams of the Gulf, that were properly prepared, in addition to the absence of two crucial players namely; Khamis Gomaa; and Zayed Abdelrahman El-Mrekhy. He also added that the Arab Championship is considered the best preparation for the Gulf Championship that will be held in Emirates at the end of this month, as a qualifier for the Asian Finals to be conducted the next month. Furthermore, the Championship will come to a stop tomorrow owing to the first day-off, then the preliminary will be resumed Monday with three games; Qatar vs. Algeria; Saudi Arabia vs. Kuwait; Egypt vs. Emirates.
