Al-Karkawi congratulates the success of the championship and a final worthy of the Arab basketball

Major General Ismail Al-Karkawi, President of the Arab and UAE Basketball Federations, praised the success of the 34th Arab Clubs Championship, which concluded yesterday evening, whether from an organizational or technical point of view, pointing out that the final match reflected the extent of the development of the Arab basketball, and the matter also applies to the meeting for the third and fourth places, which ended in extra time, congratulating Kuwait on the first Arab achievement, he added that the fans of the game enjoyed the levels presented by the teams in general, and the final of Kuwait and Al-Ahly of Egypt in particular, which was already holding the conclusion and befitting Arab basketball, indicating that the emergence of a new champion for this competition will be the biggest incentive for other teams that were not fortunate enough to achieve the Arab title; he pointed out that the championship is witnessing great participation and interest from all clubs to be present in it, which confirms the importance of this competition and its positive impact on the game and the Arab teams.

On the other hand, the final match recorded the following numbers:

Kuwait achieved 16 points out of 36 from inside the red area, compared to 23 out of 48 for Al-Ahly from inside the red area, 9 three point shots for Kuwait against 5 for Al-Ahly, and 19 free throws for Kuwait from 28 compared to 16 out of 33 for Al-Ahly, and it is the only time that the former champion wastes this percentage of throws, which was reflected negatively on the final result, in addition to the exit of Ehab Amin, the best player in the tournament, two minutes before the end, for committing the fifth mistake and counting a technical foul on him. Also, Kuwait succeeded in the rebound by scoring 49 ones, 32 in the defense while Al-Ahly scored 40 rebounds, 27 of them in the defense.
