The Arab Women’s Basketball Championship, hosted by Al-Amal Club, will start in Tunisia today, Tuesday, and will continue until the 28th of this month. The teams were divided into two groups; the first group includes the organizing club, Sharjah Emirates, Almadina Al-Setifia Algeria, Fuheis Youth Jordan, Mogadishu City Somalia, and Smouha Egypt while the second group includes Beirut Lebanon the title holder twice in a row, the Syrian Revolution, the Jordanian Orthodox, the Tunisian Alhelal, and the Algerian Kosidar.

The first round includes five matches, starting with the meeting between Sharjah and Smouha Egypt, in the first Arab appearance, starting from 11 am Tunis time, 2 pm UAE time, followed by 1 p.m. local time, Kosedar and the Syrian Revolution, then The City Setafia and Mogadishu at 3 p.m., Orthodoxy and Alhelal at 5 p.m., provided that the tournament officially opens at 7 p.m. with a singing concert and performances lasting for half an hour by the well-known Tunisian singer Lotfi Bouchnak, then The round will be end at 20:00 with a fiery summit that gathers Al-Amal and Al-Fuheis. The preliminary round will continue until September 24, then the top four emerging teams from each group will get a rest, and the matches will resume on Monday, the 26th of the same month, with the meeting of the first ranked of the first group with the fourth ranked of the second group and the second ranked of the first group with The third ranked of the second group, the second ranked of the second group, with the third ranked of the first group, the first ranked of the second group with the fourth ranked of the first group, and in the semi-finals, the winner of the first match will meet the winner of the third match, while the winner of the second match will meet the winner of the fourth match to determine the two teams that advance to the final match, while the two losers will meet to determine the third and fourth places.
