Arab Basket announces mourning for the victims of the Moroccan earthquake The women's club championship will resume next Tuesday

 

The Arab Basketball Federation announced three days of mourning for the victims of the earthquake that struck brotherly Morocco at dawn yesterday, offering heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Morocco, and praying to the Almighty God that the victims may rest in His vast mercy and that they may reside in His spacious paradise, with wishes for a speedy recovery for the injured people. This came during the meeting held yesterday evening at the Championship Hotel, headed by Major General Ismail Al-Gergawi, President of the Arab and Emirati Basketball Federations, and in the presence of Dr. Magdi Abu Freikha, Vice President of the Arab Federation, Brigadier Abdullah Shalabi, Secretary-General of the Federation, Mustafa Orsh, President of the Royal Moroccan Basketball Federation, and Engineer Abdelhak Qweisar, Vice President of the university and the president of Al-Kawkab Club, and Miqdad who is the treasurer of the Royal University. Another meeting was held with representatives of the teams continuing in the Dubai Duty Free Championship for Arab Basketball Clubs 24 for women, i.e. Al-Kawkab of Marrakesh, Kosidar of Algeria, Al-Qarin of Kuwait, and Gift Star of Somalia, and the withdrawal of Fatima Academy and the capital as a result of the earthquake and their return to Abu Dhabi and Riyadh. Brigadier General Shalabi stated that the tournament will resume on Tuesday with a match between Al-Kawkab and Al-Qarin, and will conclude the next day with two matches, the first between Al-Qarin and Gift Star, and the second between the two teams nominated for the title, Al-Kawkab and Kosidar.

He added that the results of the matches in which both Fatima Academy and Al-Asimah participated will be canceled with the approval of the other results, and accordingly, Kosidar has collected 4 points from two consecutive wins over Al-Qarin and Gift Star, and has a remaining match with Al-Kawkab, compared to two points for the Moroccan team from one win over Gift Star, waiting. His results with both Al-Qarin and Kosidar.
