The delegation of Emirates comes back Friday, Salem Atieq: Cairo stop revealed the negative points before Gulf Championship

The mission of Emirates will come back on Friday despite the departure of its national team from the 19th Youth Championship currently held in the Egyptian capital, Cairo. The team will continue his training and preparations for the Gulf Championship hosted by Emirates at the end of the present month qualifying for the Asian Finals that is to be held in Iran next month.

Salim Atieq, the technical manager of the national team, declared that Cairo stop was very important in order to get ready for Gulf Championship regardless of the results and the departure of the Arab Championship which is considered his first official participation, indicating that the coaching staff had identified the negative points and would work out to fix them to earn one of the two places qualifying for Asia, especially after recognizing the standard of the Gulf teams participating in the Arab Championship. Atieq also referred to the last game against the Kuwaiti team saying that his team went to the championship without preparations unlike the other Gulf national teams, among which the Kuwaiti blue team who was that highly prepared. He also stated that they would have been able overcome the Kuwaiti team if it was not for the several mistakes committed in the game especially the turnover and the defense follow up that facilitated the mission of the competitor team to score easily from below the basket, in addition to the injury of Abdelaziz Khalifa, the scorer of the team, and his departure 4 minutes before the end of the quarter for treatment and getting back afterwards to play while being injured.
